A while ago I met somebody at work, whom I felt instantly attracted to. I began flirting with them, and they started responding to my flirting positively almost right away. We would then move on to texting each other, and he's made it clear enough in his messages and real life behaviour that he really desires me and is interested in me.

He said he'd love to take me out for a drink if he wasn't so busy, which I understood, as he does have a very time consuming job. It went on like this for several months, where we kept flirting, my attraction to him kept growing, and I kept hoping that eventually his stressful period at work would be over and he'd finally be able to ask me out.
