I so enjoyed finally reading a dating coach write, "I really want to be evolved here, but I don’t think anybody should be this close or involved with their ex. It’s weird. It’s suspicious. Nuh uh. Nope. That said, he’s not just allowing this relationship to continue, he’s encouraging it." NO ONE AT ALL IN ANY WAY SHOULD EVER BE INVOLVED WITH THEIR EX UNLESS THERE ARE CHILDREN INVOLVED!!! Sadly, some people think that "evolved' is the better/opposite term for "short-sighted" which is what I've been accused of for not wanting to have relationships with exes, or stay friends. Why would I? It's awkward, weird and so unnecessary. It's like finding an old sweater in my closet that used to mean something, but it no longer "fits" me in some way, or I don't look right in it anymore because I've evolved/changed and moved on. Most men and women are guilty of this "emotional arson" and hold on to their partners more often than not out of a necessity unexamined, manipulative and/or deceitful. Thank you for your column.
